So I'm not a shopper…

So I'm not a shopper…

One of the biggest difficulties I’m having is shopping for equipment.  For me there is a mixture of distrust and contempt for expensive brands of salon equipment.  I’ve been shopping around for several months now and I’m still at a loss about what direction to go.  For instance, the current salon has a chair that has been great for 7 years, and actually could be refurbed to almost brand new appearance.  They cost around $300 each!  So now a company is telling me their chair which is virtually identical except it has no arm pads?!? is $900 each, and the chair I currently have is inferior.  I know what stands the test of time, and I hate being lied to.

So what about this?  It’s not as if I wanted to blog about business ethics, but I try my best to do the right thing.  I follow all the laws I know about and I believe that honesty is the best policy.  I’m meeting more and more people that I can’t trust though, and it hurts.  I’m not going to give my money to someone I can’t trust.    Why lie anyway?  I’m going to know if the product sucks.  It’s so hard.

Well this weekend is the Premiere Show and I’ll have money burning in my pocket.  IT will be interesting to see how it goes.
